Yesterday, Evan had a friend over for the very first time. He and Aiden were born a week apart, and they've been classmates since Evan was three months old. It's pretty darn cute.
I was braced for the noise and destruction to begin. I imagined blocks and trucks everywhere and roars shaking the rafters. I forgot one very important fact: two year old playdates are about the toys--not playing together. They had a blast, and there were certainly some "VROOMS!" Most of the time, though, they played in the same room, doing their own thing.
The best part: Issa played hostess. She prompted Evan about how to host, and she made suggestions about what they could do. If they went upstairs, she went upstairs. She offered juice boxes, and she never complained about the constant shift in games. I'd say we had two very successful playdates this weekend.
