Yes...those are marzipan mushrooms. If you are going to do it, do it big! She and I had a lot of fun doing it, but I have no pictures of the process. It's not a difficult cake, but it is a fussy one, which is not super conducive to kindergarten help. Thankfully, it came out of the pan beautifully and everything went astoundingly well. Buche de Noel
We had some friends over for a little Christmas party last night, and I fulfilled my promise to Issa. Behold the Buche de Noel:
