We had a fabulous weekend with a lot of very different things happening, so I'm going to split it up into separate posts over the week. The highlight, though, happened Friday when we went to carve pumpkins with goats.
There is a farm just a few minutes from our house, and they hold multiple events with goats. We finally decided we would go check it out, and we will absolutely be back! When we arrived, we spent some time in the farmyard feeding the critters. I have never seen so many ducks in my life:
The highland cows were the highlight though:Turkeys and chicken wander the whole farm, and all of the animals have huge pastures. They clearly like people and being fed and patted, though.
The next step was picking our pumpkins, and then we chose our table in the pasture. They were standing tables that were about six feet square, so we had plenty of room to carve. They also provided two baskets full of all kind of scoops and knives for carving. And...there were so many goats:
They just hopped right on the table to eat our treats and pumpkin guts, and they loved having their ears scratched:They just stick their heads right in there:
We had a blast carving and playing with the goats. Most of our lids don't fit because the goats nibbled the edges, but we don't care at all. Not only was it super fun, but we also had zero mess to clean up!
The pumpkins finish our fall porch perfectly:
