Yesterday, Issa spend a lot of time in the kitchen. Since it's Thursday, the two of us set out to try a new baking recipe! This week was gluten free oatmeal cream pies! We also got to try out our new handmixer:
(My old handmixer finally gave up last week. After twenty years, the beaters literally broke in half. It also got a little got to hold after a few minutes, so it was probably time.)
These babies tasted exactly like the real thing:
We clearly put them a little too close together on the cookie sheet, but no one seemed to mind.
It was also Issa's night to make dinner, polenta topped with smokey cowboy beans. She was very proud of the finished result:
Her polenta was perfectly creamy, and the beans were amazing:
She and I ended the day watching Romeo and Juliet at the Globe! It was an amazing performance, and I love that she enjoyed it as much as I did.
And in case you are wondering, Evan earned his lightbulb back.
