Happy New Year!

We had an incredibly quiet New Year. For New Year's Eve, we made our favorite appetizers and toasted with Dubai and Sydney so we could all be asleep by 11:
It was lovely. We decided it would still be 2022 in the morning.

We spent the rest of the weekend getting organized. Issa and I redid all of our pantries, and the kids and I did some work in the backyard. We have major plans for a complete redo of the yard, and we are starting with a lot of clean out. We have a new fence being installed soon, and we have a couple of trees that are due to come out in a couple of weeks. Then our work will begin! Brad spent most of the time in the garage, and we are spent some time out there. We are completely reconfiguring that space again, and it all started with a deep clean and purge. I love starting the year in clean spaces.

Today was supposed to be the first day back to school and work, but Mother Nature had other plans. We are getting our first winter storm, and school was cancelled last night. We woke up to no power, but Brad sprang into action and saved the day with hot coffee and eggs:

Power has been restored, and we are enjoying a slower start to our work years from home. It's not a bad transition into 2022...
