Pumpkin Patch Fun

Saturday morning, we headed out to enjoy a day at the pumpkin patch before the temperatures bottomed out. The sun was out, and the day could not have been any more perfect.

We ventured back to our favorite spot this year, which meant I got the annual pumpkin yardstick pictures again:

They just insist on growing. We enjoyed a picnic lunch, and then we headed in to the farm.

First stop, hay maze:
I do not understand why this simple maze is so hysterically fun. Both kids squealed the whole way through.

Then, it was off for a hay ride:
Evan didn't really remember our last trip, so being able to ride behind a tractor was a new delight. Taking a picture was clearly an absurd request.

Then, Evan discovered a tractor he could "drive:"
He has now decided he wants to be a farmer when he grows up. Really, his career choice is based solely on the vehicle he might get to drive.

Issa picked some cotton:
And a lovely family took a picture of our whole family:
There were goats to be fed:
 And scarecrows to be made:
We also saw cows, patted bunnies, and played in a corn crib. Finally it was time to search for the perfect pumpkin:
 Issa found hers first:
 Then Evan:
 Then Mama:
 And finally Daddy:
Please notice how thrilled my boys are to pose.

It's a good thing Daddy is a beast:
The kids picked a little bit more than they could carry, but it was a fabulous fall day.
