Happy Fourth of July!

Happy Fourth of July, everyone! We participated in the neighborhood parade yesterday. Issa planned the wagon decorations. The construction paper has glittered fireworks, and then Issa wrote all of our names on the paper--all four--all by herself--on every sign! She didn't even have to ask how to spell anything.
Here is Evan's contribution to the decorating:

Balls. There had to be balls on the floor of the wagon.

g, Issa decided to walk instead of ride. Now...I may have said this was a parade, but that might be a bit of hyperbole. There were four families, a cd player with "Stars and Stripes" playing, and we were the only ones who really decorated to walk the 100 yards of the route with a whopping three spectators. It was a little pitiful. But...Issa loved the decorating and the watermelon and popsicles at the end were great.

We thought Evan would be so excited by the fire truck, but it was a dismal failure. Mr. Eddie, our fire fighter friend, was not on the truck. It wasn't even his department. Evan was devastated. He refused to even get on the truck. We are so glad Mr. Eddie and the whole family are coming over for a picnic today!

Happy Fourth, everyone!
