A Walk

Fall may be my favorite season, but spring is a very close second. There is something about opening up the house and letting the fresh air in that breathes new life into everything. I spent some time rotating linens yesterday, putting heavy down blankets in the bottom of the hope chest and moving light throws to the top, replacing flannel sheets with floral cotton ones, and swapping heavy blankets on beds for lighter ones.

Spring is also about leaving hibernation--reexploring the neighborhood and enjoying after dinner walks. Last night, we decided to take Viv for an evening stroll.

At first, Evan and Issa took turns walking Viv:
Issa protectively kept a hand on Viv while Evan had the leash, but Evan quickly tired of being pulled about by a dog twice his size.

So...Viv took Issa for a walk:

Viv is incredibly well behaved, but she still outweighs Issa. Couple that with the fact that Issa starts to run if Viv pulls, and hilarity ensued--mostly in the form of Issa sprinting until we called Viv's name, which caused Viv to stop and Issa to about run into the dog. I'm sure there are many more walks in our future, and I can't wait to soak in a little more spring before the blazing heat of summer arrives.
